What do I do if I must enter the school building?
In order for visitors to gain access to the building during the day, you will need to ring the security buzzer at the front entrance. There will be no entry through any other doors during school hours. If you are entering the building for an appointment, please come to the front door and enter the main office to sign in and receive a visitor's badge.
What do I do if my child is going to be absent?

What happens if I must drop my child off at school in the morning or pick them up after school?
Parents may drop their children off at Lakeview beginning at 7:50 at the Birch Run entrance to the school or walk them to the school gate on the path at the Birch Run entrance. Staff members will be stationed at this gate and student entrances up until the second bell at 8:13 in order to help move the children along to their designated areas. Only school buses and staff members will enter the main parking lot during morning entry and afternoon dismissal.
All students, except kindergarteners and first graders, who are not taking the bus will be dismissed by their teachers to the Birch Run exit. A staff member will be at the gate until 3 PM. If a child does not have a ride, they should alert the staff member and will be returned to the school office. Kindergarten and First Grade students will be dismissed by their teacher to an authorized adult at the flagpole door. (We must have written authorization if another adult is picking up your child). You will need to park your cars at Birch Run and wait at the door near the flagpole for pick-up. Please be sure the classroom teacher has checked your student off their dismissal list. Please click here for a map of drop-off procedures and additional information.

It is my child's birthday and I wish to bring in treats for the class. What can I do?
With the new security system it will be difficult to manage cupcake drop off. It is suggested that if you would like your child to celebrate their birthday with treats for the class, you choose one of the following options:
Have your child bring small treats that are easily managed by them in a tin, or small-handled box.
Parents can arrange to buy ice cream for your child's class at lunchtime (Please check with the PTA for the specific days ice cream is available to be purchased at school)
Since food allergies are becoming a more frequent concern and to promote good nutrition, it might be a nice idea to have your child read a story to their class and to participate in the A.R. Spinola Birthday Book Club instead of bringing in food items.
You may ask your child's teacher for other appropriate celebration suggestions.
My home or work number or address has changed. What should I do?
Please call the school office (973) 983-6540 immediately and provide them with the new information. Follow-up with a note that includes all the updated information.
