Reading for Future Second Graders
Second grade children at Lakeview School have been busy this year learning to use the Writing Process steps to create interesting and exciting stories They are keeping a portfolio to collect samples of their work.
Students have been encouraged to make reading a part of their daily life by the RIF (Reading Is Fundamental) Program of the Denville Library. The Book It Program of Pizza Hut and certainly by their teachers and parents. The Love of reading seems to have caught on. You will often see a second grader absorbed in a story while on the bus, walking in the hall, and yes of course, in bed-anywhere-anytime-Reading IS Fun!
