OLYMPIC DAY 2004

Each year Lakeview School enjoys an Olympic Day celebration.  Opening ceremonies are a colorful array of children, teachers, parents, flags and banners. Children in grades 3 through 5 represent different countries of the world.  They carry the flags and wear colors and hats representative of their assigned country.  Children in each of the lower grades also carry banners and wear hats to represent chosen groups.  The 2nd grade classes represent animals, 1st grade classes represent insects, and in Kindergarten classes children represent shapes.

Grades 3-5 compete all day in a variety of activities.  Football, Hockey, Softball, Soccer, Tug of War, and other station games are played throughout the morning.  After lunch, a softball game  with the fifth grade students vs the teachers and police officers  continued  until closing ceremonies.

In Kindergarten – 2nd grade, students work as classes around 24 stations of relay races, water games, scooters, and many other colorful activities.  After lunch they have an opportunity to participate in an awards ceremony.

Every child receives a participation award and the excitement of working and playing with every other child in the school.
