"The Crown Jewel of Lakeview School"
A fine collection of print and non-print materials which is housed in a spectacular and aesthetically pleasing facility to serve a school population of 800 children and 50 staff members. We have moved into our new facility.
The students are served by the open library philosophy which encourages frequent and independent visits for choosing pleasure books and searching for information. Classes visit regularly for story times and instruction in research skills. Planning is cooperative, and an integrated curriculum is followed.
There are several workstations available for student use. Information is accessed through the use of a totally automated system governed by Athena software.
Volunteers include PTA parents and former professional staff members. Student aides prepare the library for the school day by booting computers, selecting books for display, and informing staff of the daily schedule.
